Systems Engineer, Software Engineer
TSC is seeking an entry‑level Systems Engineer I to support development, testing, and assessment of Navy sensors and combat systems in Silver Spring, MD. This position focuses on development and use of models and simulation of Navy Anti‑Air Warfare (AAW) and Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) systems in a software‑model based environment, and will also perform data analysis of fielded systems (hardware and software).
Responsibilities- Simulation set‑up, execution, data analysis, and presentation of results.
- Model development, enhancements or error correction.
- Regular interaction with U.S. Government customers, performing both technical and operational tasks.
- Documentation and presentation to mixed audiences of technical, operational, and managerial staff.
- Significant interaction with TSC radar system and modeling & simulation engineers.
- Execution of assigned tasking at both individual and team levels.
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a comparable technical degree well‑grounded in physics and math.
- Minimum 3.3 GPA.
- Strong written and oral communication for daily and presentation duties.
- Willingness to work on a blend of technical and operational tasks.
- Interest in Navy’s AEGIS combat system and defense technology.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Unmarked transcript with resume.
- Interest in combat system design evaluation and testing.
- Willingness to learn about technical details of radar systems.
- Signal processing and/or track filtering experience.
- Skill in C++ or Java.
- Comfort in Windows and Linux environments.
In compliance with applicable pay transparency laws, the expected salary range is $83,000 – $108,000 per year, depending on experience and location. The role is eligible for an annual performance bonus and may include equity or incentive compensation.
