We are seeking an Air Vehicle Systems Engineer (Senior) to support our customer in Patuxent River, Maryland
.

The Platform Systems IPT for Air Vehicle provides critical contractor support to the US Navy MQ-4C Triton Program Office (PMA-262). This role acts as the central hub for program execution within the DoD acquisition framework, leveraging technical knowhow and project management methodologies to oversee the Air Vehicle development lifecycle with a focus on cost, schedule, and performance.

• Provide technical support in the development and testing of Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) sensors. Review and generate technical documentation. Research, develop and propose technical solutions for problems and deficiencies within the SIGINT system.
• Oversee daily functions within the Development Platform Systems IPT and Full-Scale Fatigue Test Follow On project, ensuring schedule alignment and risk mitigation.
• Assist the Triton Air Vehicle Engineering Lead in managing a workforce of over 60 engineers (Technical Area Experts) supporting the Triton program from various NAVAIR Competencies.
• Translate high-level program requirements and priorities into actionable technical tasks as a technical facilitator.
• Lead periodic engineering discussions and track Engineering Change Proposals (ECP) to maintain program configuration and schedule integrity.
• Cost and resource management responsibilities, including collaboration across Development, Sustainment, and Production IPTs, Level 1 Programmatic, Technical IPTs, and Business Financial Managers to coordinate funding and CONs.
• Manage financial requirements for annual material for lab tests and logistical funding for engineer travel and Transportation Account Codes (TAC) for operational shipping.
• Partner with PMA Acquisition and PP&C teams to develop Program Initiation Documents (PID), Statements of Work (SOW), and related acquisition artifacts aligned with DoD standards.
• Coordinate with PMA Contracts to support contract modifications and evaluate Prime Contractor proposals as needed; engage with Prime Contractor Program Managers and Business Managers to track performance and align schedules.

• Coordinate program activities with stakeholders (e.g., OPNAV, SP-C, RCCTO, Congressional PSM).
• Develop Acquisition Strategy and Contracting Strategy; structure SOW and CLINs.
• Transition to ACAT-I or Software Acquisition Pathways.
• Mentor CSS analysts and junior personnel on program management, integration, acquisitions, and financial management.
• Attend contract meetings and financial reviews; provide input as required.
• Participate in Level II and Level III Reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Perform management, technical, or business-case analyses; apply government processes for documentation, change control, and data management.

• Greater than 10 years of experience performing duties described in the functional description.

• MA/MS degree

Bachelor’s Degree plus two (2) years of additional relevant experience may substitute for a Master’s Degree. Associate’s Degree plus four (4) years of relevant experience may substitute for a Master’s Degree. Six (6) years of additional relevant experience may substitute for a Master’s Degree.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, or related technical discipline; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
