Geotechnical​/CMT Engineer; Entry Level

About the Role

As a Staff Engineer in our Annapolis Junction office, you will work collaboratively with geotechnical and construction materials testing/inspections departments and assist with a wide variety of projects for public and private sector clients.

• Conduct test boring/test pit observations.
• Perform other geotechnical field tests.
• Classify soil samples.
• Analyze laboratory results.
• Prepare geotechnical reports/calculations.
• Manage field staff.
• Review daily CMT field reports.
• Occasionally perform on-site construction materials testing services.

• BS and/or MS in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• Entry level; no prior professional work experience required.
• A valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record with a reliable vehicle.
• Ability to meet pre‑employment requirements.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and overnight travel occasionally.
• Capability to move up to 60-80 pounds (soil and concrete samples, nuclear gauges, etc).
• Ability to read engineering and construction plans/specifications.

• Engineer in Training (EIT) license.
