The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Weather Service (NWS), Office of Systems (OS), Engineering Standards Division (ESD) has a requirement for Systems Engineering Support Services. The mission of Office of Planning and Programming for Service Delivery (OPPSD) is to plan and program service delivery capabilities across NWS portfolios. This requirement fulfills the mandate to oversee and guide the technical evolution of modern NWS systems, services, communications, and networking assets.

The purpose of this non-personnel services task order is to obtain technical engineering, operations research, business, and administrative support services. These services will assist the NWS in managing modernization and development activities for next-generation NWS systems and services across multiple enterprise portfolios. Supported portfolios and offices include:
Office of Systems, Office of Dissemination, Office of Central Processing, National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP), Office of Planning and Programming for Service Delivery (OPPSD), Analyze, Forecast, and Support Office, Office of Science and Technology Integration.

The Contractor shall provide the necessary technical engineering, operations research, software/cloud development methodologies, security systems engineering, and administrative coordination required to successfully execute the tasks defined in Section 2.0. The overall scope encompasses baseline documentation of the enterprise architecture, technical project oversight and risk tracking, optional program/project strategic insight, and ad-hoc engineering support for mission-critical NWS operational systems and services.

• Performs a variety of tasks. Will very likely direct and lead the work of others.
• Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.

Minimum Qualifications:

BS/MS in Engineering;
• Eight to ten (8–10) years of technical engineering experience.
• Must possess a valid Cloud Certified Solutions Architect - Professional credential (or equivalent).

This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment OnPoint exercises a hybrid work environment, meaning that some work can be done remotely, while other work needs to be completed on-premise. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to move physical IT equipment.
