Job Summary
The Financial Analyst position is responsible for assisting in the oversight of the financial performance and reporting of the institution.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: supporting the creation of daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial performance reports; assisting in the creation and oversight of the annual budget process; formulating and reviewing financial analysis on cash flow, operating results, and business plans to determine investment requirements, rates of return, capital and cash‑flow needs; and preparing forecasts and analysis of industry and general economic trends.
Additional duties involve creating summary presentations of analytical work to provide organizational leadership with actionable information for decision‑making.
- Perform financial analysis to answer queries regarding utilization, payors, profitability, staffing, cash flow, operating results, and business plans to determine rates of return and capital/cash‑flow requirements.
- Plan and perform analyses of financial and operational data to support department and management decision making.
- Conduct in‑depth research, analysis, and provide interpretive insights of financial data to recommend improvements to current processes and forecast alignment with business objectives.
- Participate in business case development and analysis for organization or functional business areas.
- Partner with multi‑disciplinary groups for problem solving and analysis.
- Assist with the creation of budget schedules, reports, and monitor changes and financial impacts.
- Create mailings and slide presentations to functional management and provide recommendations impacting business decisions.
- Analyze and update financial data in financial system(s); extract, combine, and evaluate financial data from multiple sources compared to the formulated budget.
- Create and provide accurate and timely reports for performance monitoring that trend financial and other indicators; work with management personnel to explain trends.
- Prepare monthly reports for distribution and assemble statistical and financial information for submission to surveys.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Bachelor's Degree in a related field (Accounting or Finance). (Required)
Required Skills & Knowledge- Knowledge of financial analysis techniques.
- Proficiency with personal computers, networks, electronic mail, Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Experience in data manipulation, analysis, and reporting in Microsoft Excel.
The disclosed salary range includes the minimum and maximum rates within which Children’s National believes an individual’s base pay rate will fall for this position. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the maximum of the pay range. The exact pay rate for this position will be based on a variety of factors in alignment with the Children’s National compensation philosophy.
These factors are legitimate and non‑discriminatory including, but not limited to, the current market conditions; organizational needs; the individual’s combination of prior work experience, level of education, knowledge, skills, and other qualifications.
