The Senior Advisor to the Secretary is a Grade 26 executive-level position in the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services, based in Carroll County. The role serves as a key member of the Secretary's leadership team, providing expert counsel on fiscal, operational, and personnel management. Primary responsibilities include conducting high-level personnel audits across facilities, analyzing compliance risks, developing corrective action plans, and serving as executive liaison with oversight bodies.
Keyqualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, International Relations, or Business Administration
- Ten (10) years of progressively responsible professional experience in government, policy-making, or public safety
- At least 3 years providing counsel to high-ranking executives, officials, or agency heads
- Five (5) years of supervisory experience in State or Federal Government (preferred)
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, International Relations, or Business Administration (preferred)
