The Office of Eligibility and Support Services (OESS) is currently recruiting for an enthusiastic professional to serve as a Government Assistance Eligibility Supervisor and help us achieve our mission. OESS serves as the primary entry point for residents seeking public health, federal, and state assistance. Its mission is to help low-income families and individuals meet basic needs by determining eligibility for social services, healthcare access programs, and financial assistance.

As a Government Assistance Eligibility Supervisor, you will plan, supervise, and review the work of unit Government Assistance Eligibility Specialists who interview and determine eligibility for all programs administered by the Department of Human Services of Maryland.
Core duties of this position will include, but will not be limited to:
- Maintaining adequate coverage of office operations.
- Responding to customers and other members of the community seeking assistance with the eligibility process.
- Addressing customer concerns regarding their active cases.
- Keeping staff apprised of all policy and procedural updates and revisions.
- Partnering with public and private service providers.
- Facilitating service integration, functioning as part of the office management team, and taking responsibility for the accuracy and timeliness of work performed by subordinates.
- Performing other job-related duties as assigned.
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree.
Experience: Three (3) years of experience as a journey-level specialist in financial assistance program delivery, or three years of equivalent work experience.
Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
