Supervisory Police Officer

About the Position:

Supervises a shift of police officers engaged in general law enforcement, prevention, and response duties. Submits recommendations for personnel actions, prepares official evaluations of subordinate employees' performance, and controls annual leave schedules.

• (1) performing law enforcement duties, such as prevention of and response to emergency situations;
• (2) enforcing a wide range of law enforcement/security laws, traffic codes, regulations, directives, and procedures;
• (3) leading employees in security or law enforcement.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirements using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
