Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Front Desk Supervisor, The Medical Administrative Assistant will serve Proyecto's patients with the highest level of care, supporting the operations at Front Desk.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Ensures that patients scheduled for appointments are served promptly with the highest level of care.
  • Responds to the incoming calls from patients seeking for information about the clinic services.
  • Schedules new patients in need for the clinic's services and assists the Front desk on the schedule for established patients.
  • Maintains knowledge of community services and resources available to patients.
  • Makes sure that patients’ demographic and financial information is up to date in the clinic’s database system ( eCW).
  • Explains policies, procedures, and services available to patients using administrative knowledge.
  • Ensures patients’ fees are collected according to the approved sliding fee scale and the clinic’s accounting policies and procedures.
  • Addresses or directs patients' concerns to the immediate supervisor or the Front desk supervisor.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Strong Computer skills.
  • Excellent active listening skills and a strong service orientation.
  • Ability to operate general office equipment.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Strong attention to detail.
Education and Experience
  • Medical Assistant Certificate a plus.
  • High School diploma
  • 1 year of experience in Customer Service.
  • 1 year of experience in Health Care.
  • Must have CPR certificate.
  • Comfortable working on a fast pace/team work environment.
  • Background check required.
