White Oak Medical Center's Pharmacy is hiring a Pharmacy Tech II in Silver Spring, MD. We're seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

Responsibilities
  • Perform drug distribution, medication preparation, compounding, dose calculation, and quality assurance. Perform sterile compounding according to USP 797 and 800 including electronic documentation.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of medications and supplies by performing inventory management cycle counts; perform patient care unit inspections with electronic documentation.
  • Prepare and deliver medication to patient care units; restock automated dispensing units.
  • Assess need for and prepare prepackaged oral solid and liquid medications for dispensing.
  • Perform Medication History assessments.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED/equivalent required.
  • Licensure as Pharmacy Technician by the Maryland Board of Pharmacy required.
  • Professional certification (PTCB or NHA Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)) required.
  • At least 2 years work experience in a pharmacy specifically using aseptic technique compliant with USP 797 and 800; working knowledge of USP 795 required.
  • Graduation from an ASHP accredited or PTCB recognized Pharmacy Technician Training Program preferred.
  • Previous experience with Cerner, Pyxis, Pharmogistics, Carousels preferred.
Work Schedule
  • Employment Type:

    Part‑time
  • Hours per Week: 20 hrs/week
  • Typical Daily

    Schedule:

    8‑hour shifts – two times a week, then three times the next week: 6:00 am‑2:30 pm, 7:30 am‑4:30 pm, 8:00 am‑4:30 pm, 10:30 am‑7:00 pm, 1:30 pm‑10:00 pm.
  • Shift Type:
    Rotating Day, Evening, Night and Weekends.
  • Weekend Requirements:
    Required every other weekend rotation.
  • Holiday Requirements:
    Required following company holiday calendar.
  • Shift Differential Eligible:
    Yes.
Pay Range

$21.02 – $28.03

If the salary range is listed as $0 or if the position is per diem (with a fixed rate), salary discussions will take place during the screening process.
