PartTime Inpatient Psychiatrist

We launched Mindoula because each of us has had personal experience with mental illness, either directly or through a loved one. We realized that the behavioral health system was broken and decided to take it upon ourselves to fix it by focusing on the people we serve, not their diagnoses or symptom sets. Each of us, and everyone we serve, is a person first, and a set of challenges second.

Through Mindoula's corporate affiliate, Care Mind Health, we provide psychiatry and related services to multiple community hospitals. We are transforming the practice of psychiatry by combining the systems-based and holistic framework of our clinical practice with our innovative approach to designing, implementing, and managing psychiatry services in a variety of treatment settings for a range of populations requiring psychiatric care.

We have full-time, part-time, and PRN roles available at multiple locations throughout the Washington DC metro area.

• Assess and screen patients by conducting psychiatric evaluations, including interviews, medical histories, physical exams, observations, and psychological testing
• Analyze data and results of assessments to diagnose patients
• Prescribe and administer medications according to diagnosis
• Monitor patients to determine efficacy and potential side effects of medications
• Develop a treatment plan, measure progress against the plan, and make adjustments as needed
• Provide crisis intervention as needed
• Complete all necessary clinical documentation in an accurate and timely manner
• Collaborate with a broader team of physicians, psychologists, and nurses to assess and adjust treatment plans
• Coordinate and communicate with case managers and other stakeholders about treatment and care
• Provide referrals to psychotherapy and any other treatment options
• Coordinate care with internal and external sources
• Educate patients and families about active conditions, recommend treatments and medications
• Provide outpatient psychiatric services virtually when needed

• Must be Board-certified or board-eligible.
• Willingness to become licensed in Maryland, DC, Virginia, or in other geographies.
