Adventist Rehabilitation - Rockville. Adventist Health Care Rehabilitation seeks to hire an experienced Speech Language Therapist (SLP) for our Inpatient team who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

Responsibilities- Work to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
- Perform an initial examination and evaluation to establish an impairment/diagnosis, prognosis and plan of care prior to intervention for all persons served with basic rehabilitation needs in acute care, outpatient or inpatient rehabilitation settings.
- Provide or supervise therapy intervention consistent with the examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, and plan of care; involve the patient/client and appropriate others in planning, implementation, and assessment; reexamine as necessary during an episode of care and modify the plan of care or discontinue speech-language pathology services as appropriate.
- Plan for discharge in consultation with appropriate disciplines, considering achievement of goals and expected outcomes; provide for follow-up or referral as needed; discontinue intervention when progress ceases or the patient will no longer benefit from therapy.
- Communicate, coordinate, and document all aspects of patient/client management, including examination results, diagnosis, prognosis, plan of care, interventions, response to interventions, barriers to progress, changes in status, reexamination, and discharge; supervise rehab aides, office assistants, and volunteers as assigned.
- Manage schedule to accommodate census range and patient load; inform management of any caseload management issues.
- Attend team meetings and effectively communicate patient status using medical records or other treating therapists as needed.
- Engage in individual professional development activities.
- Educate and provide consultation to consumers, healthcare professionals, students and the public regarding the purposes and benefits of therapy.
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- 1 year site-specific experience preferred.
- Active Maryland SLP License.
- Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
The recruiter will discuss current inpatient rehabilitation openings and schedules with clinical students and serve as the primary point of contact throughout the completion of clinicals and pre- and post-graduation employment next steps.
Pay Range: $34.58 - $51.87
