- Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of MRI units, radiology supported computer systems and CD burners.
- Performs MRI procedures and quality control as defined by departmental protocols.
- Performs MRI safety screenings for patients and researches implanted devices prior to scanning.
- Maintains compliance with local, state, and federal regulations in ACR and state licenses.
- Completes all technical assigned imaging and non-imaging procedures in the designated scheduled times.
- Enters accurate patient study information into the clinical care systems.
- Assist with the coordination of workflow and patient care activities.
- Obtain clinical history regarding reason for examination and obtains appropriate consent.
- Verifies insurance pre-authorization as defined by departmental protocols prior to scanning patient.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Uses 2 patient identifiers at all times.
- Demonstrates ability to obtain IV access.
- Ability to assess patient for adverse reactions and/or changes in patient status.
- Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of contrast media injectors.
- Demonstrates knowledge and ability to perform i-STAT testing and accurate calculation of GFR following established departmental policies and procedures.
- MR Technologist—experience required.
- ARRT Registered Technologist required.
- ARRT Advanced MRI Certification required within 2 years of hire.
- Cerner training required.
- Excellent customer service/telephone skills required.
- Flexibility in hours is required.
- Flexibility to work at alternate locations as needed.
- Ability to work independently.
Proficient in MRI procedures, patient safety screenings, and compliance with ACR and state regulations. Demonstrates expertise in using MRI units, contrast media injectors, and clinical care systems while ensuring excellent patient care and confidentiality.
