Physical Therapist

Adventist Health Care White Oak Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Physical Therapist for our Inpatient Rehabilitation Department who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

As a Physical Therapist, you will:

• Perform an initial examination and evaluation to establish an impairment/diagnosis, prognosis, and plan of care prior to intervention for all persons served with basic rehabilitation needs in acute care, outpatient, or inpatient rehabilitation settings.
• Provide, or direct and supervise, the therapy intervention consistent with the results of the examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, and plan of care.
• In consultation with appropriate disciplines, plan for discharge of the patient, taking into consideration achievement of anticipated goals and expected outcomes, and provide for appropriate follow-up or referral.
• Communicate, coordinate and document all aspects of patient management including the results of the initial examination and evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, plan of care, interventions, response to interventions, barriers to progress, changes in patient status relative to the interventions, reexamination, and discharge/discontinuation of intervention and other patient management activities with members of the care team as indicated.
• Manage schedule to accommodate range in census and patient load and inform management of any issues with caseload management.
• Attend team meetings and effectively communicate patient status, using, if needed, the medical record or other treating therapists to ensure sufficient knowledge of the case.
• Be responsible for individual professional development activities.

Qualifications include:

• Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited physical therapy program.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Inpatient Rehab setting preferred.
• Active Maryland PT License.
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

  Part-time (per diem)
• Hours per Week: 8 hrs/week
• Typical schedule:
  
  5 weekdays per month (offering a minimum of 6.5 hours/day)
• Shift Type:
  Day
• Weekend Requirement: 2 weekend days per month
• Holiday Requirements:
  Two major holidays (at least one winter holiday) per year.
• On-Call:
  No
• Compensation:
  This position is per diem at a rate of $60/hour
• Shift Differential Eligible:
  No

Pay Range:

If the salary range is not displayed or if the position is Per Diem (with a fixed rate), salary discussions will take place during the screening process.

Under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), this position is classified as:
