Term Government Assistance Eligibility Supervisor
This position is with the Office of Eligibility and Support Services in the Department of Health and Human Services for Montgomery County (MD). The salary range for this position is $82,352 to $124,656 annually. The position is a one-year term with an expiration date of July 1, 2027. Montgomery County is located adjacent to Washington, D.C., and is the most populous and diverse County in the State of Maryland. The Department of Health and Human Services provides public health and human services to meet the needs of vulnerable children, adults, and seniors through more than 120 programs at over 20 locations.
The Office of Eligibility and Support Services serves as the primary entry point for residents seeking public health, federal, and state assistance. It helps low-income families and individuals meet basic needs by determining eligibility for social services, healthcare access programs, and financial assistance.
This position oversees staff who assist residents in applying for health coverage through Maryland Health Connection, including Medicaid, MCHP, and private health insurance plans. The Supervisor ensures effective daily operations and compliance with state and federal program requirements.
Core duties of this position will include, but will not be limited to:
- Lead CE-GAES Team Operations
- Perform Quality Control and Monitoring
- Manage Productivity and Performance
- Oversee Staffing and Scheduling
- Support Training and Policy Implementation
- Handle Consumer Issues and Escalations
- Ensure Program Efficiency and Innovation

Minimum qualifications include:
- Education:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree. - Experience:
Three (3) years of experience as a journey-level specialist in financial assistance program delivery, or three years of equivalent work experience. - Equivalency:
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
