Position Overview

This W‑2 fee‑for‑service Mental Health Counselor position includes responsibilities that span across the following affiliated organization, all under shared leadership:
Community Wellness Outpatient Mental Health Center, LLC.

Employment is structured as a single W‑2 relationship with the organization, with payroll compensation based on services performed. The role will require approximately 40 hours per week of fee‑for‑service work for CWOMHC, with day‑to‑day supervision and scheduling coordinated centrally.

Client Service Location Expectations

Regardless of the option chosen, the majority of assigned clients will receive services in school‑based or inter‑school office settings only.

  • Up to 15 Category B or E clients serviced at Prettyboy Elementary School in Baltimore County (19810 Middletown Road, Freeland MD 21053)

2. Accountable for:
Delivering school‑based mental health services to middle school students, including counseling, assessments, treatment planning, and documentation, while maintaining compliance with clinical, ethical, and school system standards across assigned sites.

Classification and Schedule

Full‑time, W‑2 employee position totaling approximately 40 hours per week.

Work schedule:

4–5 days per week, 8 hours per day, preferably Monday to Friday between 8 AM and 5 PM.

Compensation Range

$52,000 – $104,000 per year paid on a fee‑for‑service basis, commensurate with credentials and experience.

Anticipated Travel

Up to 10% of the time (interoffice and site‑based).

Summary of Position Responsibilities

The School‑Based Mental Health Counselor is a W‑2 employee responsible for providing direct mental health services to elementary school students at Prettyboy Elementary School during the school day.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide services for up to 15 clients, with some seen thrice and others seen twice a week; total of approximately 40 sessions per week if services are rendered timely.
  • Provide on‑site individual and group counseling services to elementary school students during school hours.
  • Conduct initial mental health screenings and assessments for referred students.
  • Develop and update individualized treatment plans in accordance with clinical and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record system, aligned with Medicaid, COMAR, and organizational guidelines.
  • Collaborate with school staff, student support teams, and families to develop effective behavioral and mental health strategies.
  • Participate in school‑based meetings including IEP/504 plans, behavior intervention plans, and student support team discussions as requested.
