As an Occupational Therapist I, you’ll play a key role in assessing and supporting patients in their journey to reach their highest level of function. Under the supervision of the Team Coordinator, Clinical Specialist, and Rehab Therapy Services leadership, you’ll conduct evaluations, create personalized treatment plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team. You’ll also mentor peers and contribute to the ongoing improvement of our services, upholding the values and objectives of the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate patients using objective assessment techniques, focusing on occupational limitations and medical conditions.
- Develop and implement customized treatment programs to help patients reach their maximum functional potential.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure patient and team outcomes are maximized.
- Mentor team members, promoting quality and excellence in patient care.
- Contribute to the improvement of department and hospital systems to support patient outcomes.
- Education:
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. - Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of social, behavioral, biological, and physical sciences foundational to Occupational Therapy.
- Expertise in OT theory, evaluation and treatment techniques, research application, and leadership.
- Knowledge of current healthcare practices.
- Skills:
- Advanced communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Ability to use data analysis and technology for effective clinical decision-making.
- Proficient in applying clinical knowledge and OT theory in patient care.
- Licensure and Certification:
- Licensed by the Maryland Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners.
- Current AHA Health Care Provider CPR certification.
- Experience:
A minimum of 18 months as a licensed Occupational Therapist.
