Medical Scheduler
Duration: 12-week assignment with potential for permanency
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Scheduler to support patient scheduling, registration, and front office operations in a busy medical office. This role serves as a key point of contact for patients, providers, and staff while ensuring appointments, referrals, and authorizations are handled accurately and efficiently.
ResponsibilitiesSchedule new, referral, and follow-up patient appointments.
Answer incoming calls and route messages appropriately.
Register patients and update demographic and insurance information.
Obtain referrals, authorizations, and pre-certifications as needed.
Collect co-pays and other patient payments.
Coordinate testing, procedures, surgeries, and follow-up appointments when applicable.
Maintain scheduling templates and provider calendars.
Support front office operations and ensure patient confidentiality.
High school diploma or equivalent.
1- 3 years experience in a medical office setting.
Knowledge of medical terminology, referrals, insurance verification, or EMR systems.
This is a Contract position based out of Silver Spring, MD.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
