The main purpose of this position is to provide mental health and/or substance-related disorder services to clients of the Garrett County Center for Behavioral Health, including individual and group counseling services. This position will complete mental health diagnostics and/or substance use assessments and evaluations. This position will provide services at any approved office location and/or a school location. The incumbent should be committed to professional integrity and clinical excellence and must demonstrate accountability, reliability, efficient time management, and effective, transparent communication with clients and colleagues.
MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Determined by the Maryland State Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists under the requirements for Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC).
Experience:
Determined by the Maryland State Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists under the requirements for Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC).
Note:
These requirements are established by the Maryland State Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists. The Department of Budget and Management, Office of Personnel Services and Benefits does not have the authority to accept substitutions or equivalents.
- Experience using evidence-based treatment modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), is preferred.
- Experience demonstrating professional integrity and clinical excellence while managing multiple responsibilities and prioritizing work effectively.
- In accordance with Health Occupations Title 17 and Code of Maryland Regulations , candidates placed in this classification must be licensed by the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC).
- Candidates appointed to positions in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
