Overview
EPIC Application Analyst II for ASAP & Data Courier supports the design, build, testing, validation, maintenance, and ongoing support of the Epic ASAP application and related Clinical and/or Revenue Cycle applications. Under guidance from senior analysts and team leads, this role assists in system configuration, troubleshooting, and end-user support to ensure effective use of the application. The analyst collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, gaining exposure to clinical, financial, and operational workflows while contributing to system optimization and user experience improvements.
Epic application focus: ASAP and Data Courier.
Responsibilities- Design, build, test, validate, maintain, and provide ongoing support for the Epic ASAP application and related Clinical and Revenue Cycle applications.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary work groups to achieve team goals and optimize system functionality.
- Develop intermediate knowledge of system capabilities, applications, and workflows to educate and support end users effectively.
- Participate in routine meetings with department leaders and/or superusers to identify, document, and prioritize system needs.
- Provide technical support services, troubleshoot, and resolve system-related issues.
- Support Epic and other applications through software maintenance, break-fixes, optimizations, special updates, upgrades, and implementations.
- Coordinate assessment, documentation, release note review, testing, and implementation of programming, upgrade, and project requests.
- Provide on-call coverage as scheduled, ensuring timely resolution of system issues.
- Follow prescribed change management, time reporting, and documentation processes to ensure compliance with organizational policies.
- Respond to support calls within designated time frames, prioritize issues, and provide regular updates until resolution.
- Document and communicate system support status updates and issue resolutions clearly and effectively.
- Maintain current Epic certifications and participate in new version training to stay up to date with system enhancements and best practices.
Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with major coursework in computer science, Information Technology, engineering, or equivalent related experience. (Required)
In lieu of education on a 1-to-1 ratio, i.e., one year of relevant work experience equals one year of required education.
Minimum Work Experience
Three (3) years of experience in the analysis, design, build, testing, and maintenance of Epic EMR or other EMR applications, with a strong understanding of healthcare workflows related to electronic medical record systems. (Required)
Preferred:
Working knowledge and subject matter expertise in the assigned operational department area, Epic ASAP. (Preferred)

Epic ASAP Certification within 60 Days (Required)
Currently active Epic ASAP Certification (Preferred)
Epic Data Courier certification (Required)
Currently active Epic Data Courier certification (preferred)

Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills – Strong capability to assess complex issues, troubleshoot system functionalities, and develop practical solutions that optimize healthcare and revenue cycle workflows.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills – Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams, document processes clearly, and engage stakeholders with varying levels of technical expertise.
Project Coordination & Time Management – Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and independently coordinate projects of varying complexity, ensuring objectives are met on time and with high quality.
Healthcare & Revenue Cycle Knowledge – In-depth knowledge of healthcare operations, clinical workflows, and revenue cycle processes, with the ability to leverage Epic systems to align with organizational goals and needs.
Adaptability & Resilience – Ability to adjust priorities based on evolving business needs, stay focused and productive under pressure, and successfully navigate changes in a dynamic healthcare environment.
