DescriptionThis role provides vital operational, project, and program support to the Chief of Staff and the Innovation, Integration and Transition (IIT) Director.
Key Responsibilities- Manage office operations, including revising and tracking the CPO Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and implementing service-level agreements.
- Manage internal and external requests for climate‑related information, draft correspondence, and track due dates and deliverables.
- Plan and coordinate meetings, workshops, and annual meetings, handling logistics, scheduling, agenda development, and action tracking.
- Provide communications support, including writing reports on CPO accomplishments, copy‑editing, and preparing presentations and briefing materials.
- BS/BA in relevant fields
- Administrative experience supporting a science‑oriented organization
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to quickly understand relevant science concepts and articulate findings and accomplishments
- Previous working experience in a similar environment
- Previous experience at NOAA, NASA, NSF, or an agency with strong science mission focus
- Graduate degree in a relevant field

DescriptionThis highly technical role is responsible for coding, 3D/2D visual rendering, and managing the web interface and architecture for major public‑facing NOAA websites (e.g., Climate.gov, U.S. Climate Resilience Toolkit).
Key Responsibilities- Write original code (using Python, JavaScript, and Django) to process large climate datasets and automate data visualization workflows.
- Develop custom GUI applications, ESRI‑ArcGIS toolboxes, and web‑based widgets.
- Develop 3‑D perspective animations, audio/video editing, and imagery using NOAA datasets.
- Adapt website page templates and Content Management Systems (CMS) ensuring IT security compliance, 508 compliance, and mobile compatibility.
- Lead web projects, identify/resolve site functionality issues, and generate bi‑weekly project status reports.
- BS/BA in relevant fields
- Strong programming skills in website design, development, and data visualization
- Familiarity with GUI design and ESRI‑ArcGIS tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to understand science concepts and science datasets and translate them into easy‑to‑understand data visualizations and infographics
- Strong knowledge of NOAA science and datasets
- Previous experience in a similar capacity
