Lead Cloud Data Architect

Role Overview

Leads the architecture and development of public and private cloud solutions, including impacts to enterprise data architecture and delivery of cloud data strategies that are aligned with business objectives. Implements the migration of platforms to a cloud and ensures reliability, security, and compliance requirements are met.

• Leads the Cloud Data Architects in the deployment of the overall cloud data architecture, focusing on organizational structure, identity and access management, networking, security, and ingestion.
• Develops standards, frameworks, patterns and processes to benefit existing stakeholders.
• Communicates with key stakeholders, industry experts, and technical peers to understand technology and business requirements, industry trends and the broader data architecture landscape.
• Develops and communicates the technical data architecture direction and roadmap for cloud data capabilities.
• Maintains a strong understanding of the current cloud data platform and proactively leads the analysis of the technology environment to detect deficiencies, gaps and opportunities; prioritises, initiates and implements technology efforts aimed at addressing these opportunities.
• Translates business and technical requirements into a data architectural blueprint that achieves business objectives.
• Provides guidance on cloud automation and continuous integration/continuous improvement (CI/CD) capabilities.
• Ensures compliance of solutions with architectural standards.
• Collaborates with security architecture and information security teams to ensure solution integrity and adherence to enterprise standards and policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.

• Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative or business field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science).
• 10 years of related experience with deep functional knowledge and demonstrated accomplishments reflective of the level of this position.

• Knowledge of cloud computing security, Dev Ops, CI/CD data pipeline tools such as Jenkins, Microsoft Azure and VPN technologies.
• Familiarity with software design patterns and enterprise application architectural styles (Microservice, Broker, Serverless, etc.).
• Experience with hosting services in a cloud environment, high-security requirements and database technologies with distributed cache management.
• Analytical skills, project management, and the ability to identify basic problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.
• Strong independent work ethic, accuracy under pressure, excellent judgment, decision‑making, and communication skills.
• Ability to drive multiple projects to successful completion and to communicate complex findings and recommendations to upper management.
• Collaboration with cross‑functional teams and facilitation of session to elicit ideas and encourage participation.
• Attention to detail and adaptability to changing priorities in a dynamic environment.
