Senior Info Sec Engineer
Position (260000HL) at Children's National Hospital in Silver Spring, MD. This role supports the Info Sec mission of securing the patient experience and focuses on designing, building, configuring, testing, monitoring, and maintaining security systems and applications in compliance with the hospital’s IT standards.
ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Information Security Engineer will:
- Design, build, configure, test, monitor, and maintain information security systems and applications.
- Initiate tasks to identify cybersecurity system performance.
- Shape tasks involving operation, monitoring, and analysis of cybersecurity applications and systems.
- Coordinate testing and deployment of cybersecurity systems including firewalls, network analysis tools, access management systems, and vulnerability management applications.
- Coordinate actions necessary to recover from system failures.
- Identify key reporting metrics associated with cybersecurity systems.
- Participate in the application of systems engineering principles including requirements definition, system design, test planning and documentation, integration, and operational testing.
- Apply engineering practices related to performance, functionality, cost, and efficiency trade‑offs.
- Initiates and executes tasks involving the identification of cybersecurity system performance.
- Initiate and shapes tasking involving the operation, monitoring, and analysis of cybersecurity applications and systems.
- Coordinates actions involving the testing and deployment of cybersecurity systems including firewalls, network analysis tools, access management systems, and vulnerability management applications.
- Coordinates actions necessary to recover from system failures.
- Identifies key reporting metrics associated with cybersecurity systems.
