Sr . Cloud Infrastructure Engineer – DEVOPS ( Kubernetes )

You will be working to help design and build GKE clusters for Verizon IT applications to migrate to or build in greenfield. You will combine the existing cloud design, policies, and practices in place today at Verizon for other clouds and apply them to the GCP/GKE technology stack.

• Enhance and contribute to new GKE architecture
• Develop tooling and self-service capabilities
• Integrate automation workflows into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Ansible, and Gitlab)
• Collaborate with developers and infrastructure teams to enhance the developer experience
• Migrate or build the initial pioneer workloads into GKE

• GKE & CCE Architecture, Deployment & Operations experience
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and using test-driven frameworks
• Experience with implementing and testing GKE Security Policy
• Experience designing GKE architecture
• Experience with GKE automation to stand-up clusters
• Strong communication and written skills
• Experience creating technical architecture documentation
• Understanding of GCP Identity Management (Service Principals, Managed Identity, Service Roles)
• Understanding of GKE PSP/OPA Policy Management

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code
• Experience designing and implementing GKE architecture through automation
• Strong development/programming skills
• Experience with Agile and Dev Ops concepts
• Experience with migrating applications to GKE
• Experience with orchestrating GCP Virtual Machine deployments in an enterprise setting
• Experience with Ansible or Terraform

B.S. or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related technical degree
