Associate Immigration Attorney – Silver Spring MD

Law Office Of Conrad Bayelle & Associates, LLC is searching for an Associate Immigration Attorney to assist with meeting with clients to ascertain their needs and representing clients’ interests at interviews with the United States Citizenship Immigration Services and the Executive Office for Immigration Review (Immigration Court).

Prior immigration experience is required. Primary job duties will be to make regular appearances in immigration court; must have experience litigating, and must have experience with asylum cases, prosecutorial discretion, and other removal defense experience is preferred. Will assist in supervising paralegals.

Will manage a significant client caseload of affirmative and defensive cases by directly providing comprehensive legal services, including conflict-of-interest checks, over-the-phone and in-person intakes and consultations, preparing applications, obtaining supporting documents, conducting research, preparing briefs, and representing clients at interviews and hearings, family-based immigration, consular processing, removal defense, asylum, U visas, waivers, and naturalization.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctorate or LLM (Any State Bar Admission Required)
  • Immigration law experience (3 years min preferred)
  • Strong case management, legal research, and legal writing skills
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a large team
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work in a fast-paced environment
  • The ability to multi-task and adhere to deadlines
  • Comfort using case management software, Microsoft Word, Adobe, and other programs standard to day-to-day work in the office
  • Excellent knowledge of legal research techniques and databases

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who will take the initiative to get things done. Interest in growing with the firm and in working with immigrant communities. Spanish speakers are preferred.
