TEMP Maintenance Assistant

Full Time Position - 40 hours per week

Schedule:

Monday - Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM

Pay Range: $25-$30 per hour based on experience

The ideal candidate will have five (3) or more years of experience in the maintenance of residential buildings including troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of associated building systems.

Leisure World of Maryland Corporation (LWMC) the property management company for Leisure World of Maryland is a private, age-restricted community comprised of 29 housing associations and 9,000 residents located in Montgomery County, Maryland and is seeking a Maintenance Assistant.

• Assists in performing routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines operate properly, building systems operate efficiently, and the building structure remains in good physical condition.
• Assists in performing diagnosis, repairs and preventative maintenance associated with building systems, physical structures, plumbing systems, HVAC operation, electrical distribution and other various building systems found in residential building (Mutual).
• Assists with testing fire/safety systems.
• Performs interior and exterior maintenance as directed by the Building Engineer
• All other duties as assigned.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
N/A.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)-Required
Associates degree (two- year college or technical school) Preferred

Three (3) or more years of experience in the maintenance of residential building including troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of associated building systems

• Ability to climb and work from ladders, man hoists or lifts, and the ability to lift and carry
• Ability to frequently walk up and down stairs for inspections and emergency procedure
• Equipment inspections require getting on hands and knees to reach areas difficult to
• Ability to visually inspect machinery and buildings

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and stoop, kneel, stoop, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
