Job Description & How to Apply Below
HH Fund is a real estate investment and asset management firm focused on student housing and value-add multifamily properties across the United States. We operate with a vertically integrated model that includes acquisitions, asset management, accounting, and operations, enabling us to drive performance and deliver value to our capital partners.
As our platform expands, we are seeking a Property Accounting Manager to lead and strengthen the property-level accounting function across our national portfolio.
About the Role
The Property Accounting Manager will supervise a team of property accountants and oversee the monthly close process, financial reporting, and compliance for a portfolio of 25+ properties. This individual will serve as a critical liaison between accounting, operations, and asset management, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and timeliness in all financial reporting.
The ideal candidate is an experienced, detail-oriented accounting leader who thrives in a fast-paced and growing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full monthly and year-end close process across all managed properties.
- Supervise and mentor a team of property accountants.
- Review and approve journal entries, accruals, and monthly reporting packages.
- Ensure accuracy in general ledger reconciliations, variance analysis, and partner distributions.
- Coordinate with asset management, acquisitions, and operations teams to ensure aligned financial reporting.
- Implement, maintain, and ensure compliance with internal accounting procedures, controls, and system workflows.
- Oversee cash management, AP/AR review, and property-level budgeting processes.
- Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and automation efficiencies.
- Support audits, lender reporting, and capital partner requests as needed.
- Provide strategic insights to leadership through analysis of financial performance and operational trends.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- CPA required.
- 5-7+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in real estate or property management.
- Prior experience managing a team strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting best practices.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high-growth, fast-moving environment.
- Proficiency with property management/accounting software (Yardi, Real Page, or similar) a plus.
HH Fund is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive workplace for all employees.
