As a Supervisory Administrative Officer, you will perform the following duties:

• Serve as a senior advisor to office Deputy and Director, leading programmatic support of effective management of fishery resources. Provide expert advice and guidance for the formulation of program operation, administrative, and regulatory policies. Oversee the allocation and distribution of finances and budgets for the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS). Responsible for all technical and administrative responsibilities and functions such as procurement, acquisition, records management, property, and human resources.
• Participate and collaborate in long and short-range management analysis, action plans and execution. Ensure office goals and objectives are aligned with the agency's objectives. Coordinate assigned resources to execute assigned programs and projects within associated physical and fiscal constraints.
• Exercise full supervisory authority over a diverse group of employees, include planning and distributing work, setting priorities, and developing schedules for the completion of work. Evaluate the performance of subordinates and provide technical oversight and instruction. Identify developmental need and provide or arrange for training.

This position will be filled under the DOC Alternative Personnel System (CAPS). Under CAPS, positions are classified by career, pay plan, and pay band. The ZA-5 is equivalent to the GS-15.
