Vice President, Asset Management & Operations

The Vice President, Asset Management & Operations serves as a key member of the senior leadership team and is responsible for maximizing portfolio performance, driving operational excellence, and executing the company's strategic business plan across a national, multifamily real estate platform.

This leadership role partners closely with acquisitions/investments, investor relations/fund management, and operations to oversee asset performance, capital investment strategy, and revenue optimization strategies across the national portfolio to enhance asset value, improve operating efficiencies, and achieve long-term investment objectives. The ideal candidate possesses deep multifamily investment expertise, strong operational leadership capabilities, knowledge of current Prop Tech and AI/Automation tools, and a proven track record of growing portfolio value through strategic asset management and operational execution.

Key Responsibilities:

General Leadership & Strategy
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to implement asset & portfolio-wide operating strategies that maximize operational and financial asset value and investor returns.
  • Drive organizational alignment and accountability across property operations, asset management, and any/all support functions.
  • Provide executive leadership by providing strategic, analytical support across acquisition, disposition, financing, and any other portfolio growth decisions.
  • Partner with senior leadership in continuing to build a high-performance culture focused on accountability and results.
  • Foster collaboration across acquisitions/investments, finance, investor relations/fund management, and all 3rd party property management teams.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to help recruit and retain top talent across all functions within the organization.
Asset Management Oversight
  • Oversee the financial and operational performance of the multifamily portfolio. Develop and direct value creation strategies across the operating portfolio.
  • Manage & interpret portfolio reporting, benchmarking, and performance analytics. Monitor and enhance NOI growth, occupancy, rent performance, and operating margins.
  • Lead asset & portfolio level annual business planning and hold teams accountable for performance targets.
  • Collaborate with Director of Operations to establish best-in-class operating standards, policies, and practices across the portfolio.
  • Ensure consistency in operational execution across all markets and regions.
  • Lead operational improvement programs focused on efficiency, scalability, and profitability, and ensure consistency in operational execution across all Company markets/regions.
  • Provide strategic oversight for all renovation, repositioning, and/or redevelopment initiatives for major capital projects.
  • Monitor project budgets, schedules, and investment returns. Approve capital investment strategies and project prioritization.
Key

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in real estate, finance, business administration, or related field. MBA or master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of strategic, multifamily asset management experience within reputable, institutional owner/operator and/or private equity/investment/advisory platforms.
  • Prior success in overseeing large multifamily operating portfolios with value enhancement business plan initiatives.
  • Proven experience leading asset management/operations teams. Strong preference for exposure to overseeing 3rd party operational groups/partners.
  • Exceptional communications skills, both oral and written, with the ability to interact with people at various experience levels inside/outside of the organization.
  • Strong organizational/time management skills with the ability to drive multiple project teams at a given time.
  • Knowledge of current Prop Tech and AI/automation tools, with experience building on and enhancing existing proprietary systems.
  • High sense of urgency, team-oriented, with a genuine desire to be part of a fast paced, entrepreneurial culture.
