The position is responsible for both the daily operations and maintenance of all MMD real property on the Camp Fretterd Military Reservation (CFMR). This position supports the Maryland Army National Guard Readiness Center, Joint Staff/EOC, Surface equipment maintenance facility, 67 support buildings on 587 acres of land.
POSITION DUTIESIncluding but not limited to:
- Ensure CFMR is operational 27/7/365.
- Executes comprehensive preventive maintenance program.
- Inspect CFMR buildings and grounds to ensure proper use by tenants and guests.
- Detect potential or existing life safety and environmental hazards.
- Reviews and approvals all work orders prior to submission or execution.
- Supervises a staff comprised of Skilled Trades employees and Maintenance Chief positions
- Determine maintenance and housekeeping requirements.
Education:
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience:
Six years of administrative staff or professional work.
Notes:
- 1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience.
- 2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience in administrative staff or professional work for the required experience.
- 3. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience.
- 4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
- At least (4) years of direct experience supervising and evaluating multi-disciplinary facility maintenance crews
- Experience overseeing diverse building trades, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, drywall, and painting.
- Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations, life safety codes, and environmental compliance related to facility operations and hazardous material handling.
- Demonstrated experience working in a military, government, or large campus environment
- Work order management
This position will require the ability to pass a State & Federal background check to access military facilities within the state of Maryland. Being able to access these facilities is a condition of employment for this position.
This position will require the ability to pass a Federal background check in addition to a State background to access the Federal computer systems by being issued a CAC card. The ability to obtain and maintain this access to CAC card is a condition of employment for this position.
