Position Summary
The Marketing Manager leads the development and execution of ASCCP’s marketing and communications strategy. This role owns the marketing function end to end — setting strategy, managing campaigns, and overseeing brand and content. The ideal candidate is a strategic, hands‑on marketing professional with strong leadership, project management, and communication skills, and a passion for mission‑driven work in the medical/non‑profit space. While this is a strategic leadership role, the Marketing Manager is also expected to roll up their sleeves for day‑to‑day execution — writing, building campaigns, and managing content directly.
Key Responsibilities Marketing Strategy & Leadership- Develop and lead ASCCP’s annual marketing and communications strategy, aligning campaigns with organizational goals, programs, events, products, and membership growth.
- Set marketing priorities, timelines, and budgets; report on performance and ROI to the Chief Growth Officer.
- Manage, mentor, and set priorities for direct reports and any contractors or agency partners (design, PR, digital).
- Serve as the organization’s brand steward, ensuring consistent voice, identity, and messaging across all platforms and departments.
- Oversee the planning, creation, execution, and analysis of integrated marketing campaigns across digital, print, and event-based platforms.
- Direct the production and distribution of e‑newsletters, promotional emails, and website content, including oversight of the CMS in partnership with the Operations department.
- Guide social media strategy across Linked In, Facebook, and Instagram; oversee content calendars and campaign messaging.
- Partner with designers and vendors to produce branded digital and print assets (flyers, brochures, ads, web graphics).
- Monitor analytics across channels, translate performance data into actionable insights, and adjust strategy accordingly.
- Lead marketing initiatives to support member recruitment, retention, onboarding, and renewals.
- Develop messaging and campaigns that promote membership value and drive engagement.
- Collaborate with the Membership Manager to analyze member survey feedback, driving improvements to member experience and shaping strategic direction.
- Own promotional strategy and execution for the ASCCP Annual Scientific Meeting and other educational initiatives.
- Drive registration growth and revenue for the Annual Meeting and other educational events through targeted marketing campaigns, promotional pricing strategies, and performance tracking against registration and revenue goals.
- Oversee event communications, signage, on‑site branding, and post‑event reporting.
- Manage the marketing budget, calendar, and reporting cadence.
- Partner with other departments (education, membership, meetings) to ensure alignment on messaging and campaign goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support ASCCP’s mission and strategic priorities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive marketing experience, including supervisory or team‑lead experience, preferably within a membership‑based organization, medical society, or non‑profit environment.
- Demonstrated success developing and executing multi‑channel marketing strategies and managing a marketing budget.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency with email marketing platforms (e.g., Constant Contact), CMS (e.g., Word Press), social media tools, and analytics platforms.
- Familiarity with graphic design tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar is a plus.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously, including direct reports and outside vendors.
- A strategic, self‑starting leader with a collaborative mindset and a passion for mission‑driven work.
- Preference given to candidates living within 90 minutes of the Washington DC metro area.
- Experience working in a virtual environment.
