Help grow support for life-changing behavioral health services across Maryland. Santé is hiring a Director of Development to grow support for behavioral health and crisis services across Maryland. This is a high-impact opportunity for a hands-on fundraising leader who can build strategy, grow relationships, and help expand philanthropic support for a mission that matters.
In This Role, You’ll- Develop and execute a multi-year fundraising strategy across government, foundation, corporate, individual, and planned giving sources.
- Build Santé’s culture of philanthropy across staff, Board, external supporters.
- Establish the policies, systems, and reporting needed to support a growing development operation.
- Build and lead the development function, including any development staff and management of external development consultants.
- Write compelling grant proposals, donor appeals, sponsorship pitches, and stewardship communications.
- Partner with the CEO, leadership team, and Board on donor engagement and stewardship.
- Build relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, and foundations across Maryland.
- 5+ years of progressive fundraising experience.
- Direct grant writing experience and cultivation of major gifts.
- Strong relationship-building skills with individual donors, corporate partners, and foundation funders.
- Experience contributing to building or growing a development program.
- Comfortable building a development function from the early-stage, including establishing systems, processes, and donor cultivation.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to translate organization strategy into a compelling case for support.
- Connection to behavioral health, healthcare, or human services missions preferred.
