We are seeking a qualified Pre-Op/PACU Nurse to work Monday - Thursday to administer diligent care to outpatients via monitoring, assessment, intervention, and continuous reassessment. The Pre-Op/PACU Nurse will provide care for patients preparing for the operating room and post-operative patients recovering from anesthesia, including general, regional, and local. Most procedures only require local and twilight sedation.

• Provides comfort and reassurance to the patient while supporting the patient’s right to privacy, dignity, and confidentiality
• Confirms that proper techniques and procedures are used according to accepted standards of practice
• Assists in inventory of supplies, drugs, and equipment to maintain availability and stock levels
• Performs thorough pre‐operative patient assessment required in the outpatient setting
• Performs safe and individualized nursing care for the patient
• Provides nursing care to meet patient needs related to surgical condition and type of anesthesia administered

• Excellent skills and clinical ability
• BLS certification, ACLS preferred
• Current Maryland RN license
• Ophthalmology experience is a plus
