Responsibilities:
- Helping the ER staff by taking the extra time with patients to gather information or history that may not have been mentioned during Intake/Triage.
- Assisting patients from the waiting room back into their assigned ER room and preparing them for the arrival of Nurse or Doctor.
- Informing patients that a nurse will come shortly and teaching them how to call the nurse on their remote if needed before the nurse arrives; alerting the nurse to new patient arrivals.
- Assisting ER nurses by taking vitals, charting, providing EKGs, preparing beds for returning patients, alerting social workers when needed, and updating loved ones of waiting patients.
- Ensuring patients have transportation upon discharge, coordinating pick‑ups, wheeling patients to their rides, and waiting with them outside the waiting room to ensure safe arrival to their ride.
Required:
- Associate degree or equivalent (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Certification as a Nursing Assistant by the Maryland State Board of Nursing (preferred)
- 1‑3 years of work experience in a hospital setting
- Bilingual, English/Spanish
Pay Range:
- $17.89 - $25.04 per hour
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
