Program Overview
Adventist Health Care’s Nurse Residency Program is a year‑long, structured learning experience designed to transition new graduates from education to professional practice. Residents receive continuous mentorship, a prescribed orientation period based on their specialty, and monthly 4‑hour seminars for peer and leadership engagement.
Responsibilities- Attend all assigned learning activities and clinical experiences; arrive on time and prepared.
- Complete all clinical and classroom assignments, maintaining a minimum 80% passing grade.
- Rotate shifts according to program and preceptor schedule.
- Manage all costs associated with required books, materials, equipment, and transportation.
- Collaborate closely with preceptor, CNS, educators, and program coordinator to integrate and maximize learning.
- Participate in regular evaluation sessions to obtain/provide feedback on performance and program effectiveness, completing competency documentation.
- Complete an evidence‑based practice project before program completion.
- Graduate from an accredited ASN, BSN, or MSN program within 12 months prior to cohort start date.
- Licensed RN in MD or a compact state, with BLS certification (American Heart Association). ACLS may be obtained after employment for ICU/PACU specialties.
- GPA of 2.75 or higher preferred.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, communication, and computer proficiency skills.
- Ability to work independently in a multitask environment.
- No prior RN or LPN experience required.

Pay Range$37.00 – $55.00 hourly.
Employment ClassUnited States of America (Non‑Exempt) under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
