Position
Purpose:
Reporting to the Director, the RN must demonstrate passion to provide bedside care to a diverse and acutely ill population of patients. The RN should possess the knowledge and skill to apply the nursing process to assess, plan and evaluate the care of patients with various health conditions.
The 30-bed unit provides care to patients with primary cardiac diagnoses, as well as to medical patients that require cardiac telemetry monitoring. The unit is staffed by registered nurses, certified nursing assistants, health unit coordinators, and monitor technicians, and receives support from clinical educators and advanced practice nurses.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient-centered continuum of care.
- Communicate variances from patient goals and advocate on behalf of the patient.
- Maintain accurate and timely healthcare records.
- Administer medications to patients, provide education and monitor for efficacy and side effects.
- Assess, monitor, report and record patient condition and pertinent changes.
- Design, implement and evaluate patient nursing care plans with the healthcare team.
- Educate patients and family throughout stay and in preparation for discharge.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree required (BSN preferred).
- Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.
- BLS certification issued through the American Heart Association.
- Superb interpersonal, communication and collaboration abilities.
- Competency in electronic patient management systems.
- BSN or MSN preferred.
- At least 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care setting.
- Willingness to work as a graduate nurse and receive training.

Pay Range: $38.92 – $55.68. Pay is based on experience, skills and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
