Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse
A Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse provides specialized care to women during childbirth, ensuring safety and comfort throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery. They collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver high-quality obstetric care and support patient needs.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and monitor maternal and fetal health status throughout labor and delivery.
- Prepare and assist with labor, delivery, and postpartum procedures.
- Administer medications and interventions as prescribed to facilitate safe childbirth.
- Educate patients and their families on labor processes, postpartum care, and breastfeeding.
- Document patient progress, vital signs, and clinical interventions accurately.
- Collaborate with physicians, obstetricians, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans.
Qualifications:
- Hold an active and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Possess previous experience in labor and delivery or obstetrics nursing.
- Demonstrate strong assessment and clinical skills specific to obstetric care.
- Exhibit excellent communication and patient education abilities.
- Be certified in BLS and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program).
- Show ability to work effectively in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
