Job Description Serve as Biological Technician SME for Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) Center for Infectious Disease Research (CIDR).
* Assist PI with the safe and effective scientific and administration of the laboratory and supporting staff.
* Knowledgeable on and experienced in mammalian cell culture; in performing molecular methods (cloning, expression, qPCR, etc); as well as in producing and purifying mRNA and recombinant protein products.
* Trained in small rodent handling techniques to include blood collection, immunization and dissection.
* Experienced in good laboratory practices and performing immunological assays to assess immune responses (such as ELISA, IFA, ELISpot,etc.) to support DHA relevant projects.
* Track and maintain status of supply/reagent/sample and equipment inventories.
* Experience with writing and revising SOPs, risk assessments and study reports/summaries.
* Manage notebooks, data files, and perform data analysis using basic stats or graphic programs.
* Possession of strong organization and project management skills.
* Demonstrable ability to troubleshoot.
* Proven record of oral and written communication.
* Experience with DoD, DHA, or WRAIR Biologics Research
