Clinical Research, Medical Technologist & Lab Technician
Serve as Biological Technician SME for Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) Center for Infectious Disease Research (CIDR).
Responsibilities- Assist PI with safe and effective scientific and administrative operations of the laboratory and supporting staff.
- Track and maintain status of supply/reagent/sample and equipment inventories.
- Write and revise SOPs, risk assessments and study reports/summaries.
- Manage notebooks, data files, and perform data analysis using basic statistics or graphic programs.
- Knowledgeable in mammalian cell culture and molecular methods (cloning, expression, qPCR, etc.).
- Proficient in producing and purifying mRNA and recombinant protein products.
- Trained in small rodent handling techniques including blood collection, immunization, and dissection.
- Experience with good laboratory practices and performing immunological assays such as ELISA, IFA, ELISpot to assess immune responses.
- Experience with writing and revising SOPs, risk assessments and study reports.
- Strong organization and project management skills.
- Demonstrable ability to troubleshoot.
- Proven record of oral and written communication.
- BS in a life science discipline.
- 3+ years research laboratory experience performing immunological assessment assays or a recent Master’s degree with a research laboratory component.
- Experience with DoD, DHA, or WRAIR Biologics Research.
