Responsibilities- The Scientist will research novel materials, with an emphasis on plasmonic materials, nanocrystalline metal synthesis, and electro-optical analysis methodologies. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of scientific research in the studies of aerosols, applicable instrumentation, and the field testing of materials and equipment.
- Support scientific R&D projects involving chemicals, materials, explosives, and equipment related to obscurants and dissemination systems in the laboratory and field
- Support Research of novel materials with obscuration properties in various sections of the electromagnetic spectrum
- Contribute to presentations, technical reports and research publications
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Physics, or related science/engineering field

- 5 years of experience researching plasmonic materials, nanocrystalline metals, and related materials with electro-optical analysis methodologies
- Must have experience with aerosol science
- Must be proficient in conducting experiments in the laboratory and field
- Experience investigate ultra-fine, high-aspect ratio particles
- Strong data collection and analysis skills
- Excellent communication skills in English and the ability multitask, prioritize, and complete work within schedule
- Able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
- Master’s degree in Aerosol Science or related field
- Experience with military obscuration testing
- Experience in processing and interpreting large experimental or atmospheric datasets with personal code or commercial software products
- Experience with R&D related to the explosive dispersion of materials
