Job Summary
At Jack’s Roofing Company, we are looking for someone who is genuinely excited about the craft, complexity, and business of high‑end roofing. This is not a commodity roofing sales role – it is a relationship‑driven, technically focused position for someone who wants to continue building their expertise in premium roofing systems while becoming a trusted advisor to homeowners, architects, builders, and general contractors.
The ideal candidate should already have a solid foundation in roofing construction practices and knowledge of specialty roofing materials and systems. Just as importantly, they should be motivated to continue learning, growing their technical expertise, and understanding how craftsmanship and detailing impact long‑term performance. This role blends technical consulting, estimating, project management, relationship management, and sales. The right candidate will evaluate roofs, develop scopes of work, estimate projects, present solutions, manage client relationships, and help guide projects from concept through completion while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
This person must be comfortable working directly with homeowners to understand their needs and tailor solutions accordingly, while also confidently managing conversations with builders, general contractors, and design professionals. Over time they should become viewed as a trusted expert and relationship partner across both residential and construction clients. The person who succeeds here will combine technical curiosity, professionalism, emotional intelligence, and competitive drive.
At its core, this role is about building meaningful relationships, becoming a trusted authority in a specialized industry, and helping grow one of the region’s most respected roofing companies.
- Act as the primary liaison between the company and general contractor (GC) clients, fostering strong professional relationships.
- Conduct site visits to assess project needs, gather client requirements, and provide expert guidance on roofing solutions.
- Maintain proactive and clear communication with clients to provide updates, address concerns, and ensure satisfaction.
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and project documents to prepare accurate labor, material, and cost estimates.
- Develop scopes of work and professional proposals for homeowners, contractors, and clients.
- Present proposals and proactively communicate with clients throughout the sales process to drive projects toward contract execution.
- Ensure smooth project handoffs to operations with clear scope and expectations.
- Act as a liaison between clients and the operations team to support change orders, scope revisions, and project‑related concerns that may impact timelines, while helping communicate next steps, solutions, and client expectations.
- Serve as a technical and relationship resource during active projects when needed.
- Apply strong knowledge of specialty and/or historic roofing systems — including slate, clay tile, cedar, and architectural sheet metal — to support successful project outcomes.
- Stay current on industry trends, roofing innovations, manufacturer specifications, and local building codes.
- Act as a technical resource and mentor to junior team members by sharing knowledge, guidance, and best practices.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities through relationship development and networking.
- Develop credibility with homeowners, builders, architects, and industry partners to generate repeat and referral business.
