Join MAPEI Corporation, a global leader in the manufacturing of construction chemicals and building materials, including adhesives, sealants, and specialty products used in flooring, tile, and concrete restoration. MAPEI is seeking an Architectural Sales Representative to build relationships with architects, designers, developers, national accounts, and commercial contractors. This role will influence product specifications, support commercial projects throughout the full project lifecycle, and expand awareness and use of MAPEI solutions within the architectural and design community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with architects, designers, developers, national accounts, and commercial contractors to increase MAPEI product specifications and sales opportunities.
  • Manage specification opportunities throughout the project lifecycle, from pre-design and design through bidding, construction, and closeout.
  • Identify project scope and product opportunities, conduct in-person meetings, prepare MAPEI-specific specifications, and follow projects through review and bid activity.
  • Deliver continuing-education programs and technical product presentations to the architectural and design community.
  • Partner with MAPEI sales representatives and distributor partners to pursue major commercial projects and coordinate customer activity.
  • Maintain and expand existing national accounts while identifying and developing new account opportunities.
  • Monitor market activity, competitive trends, building practices, and emerging products to support sales and business-development strategies.
  • Maintain accurate project, account, and specification information and ensure customer materials remain current.
  • Represent MAPEI at trade shows, industry events, and professional association activities.
  • Fulfill BMS and EHS policy and process requirements, including pollution prevention, waste reduction, continuous improvement, and compliance with applicable environmental and safety requirements.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree in architecture, design, construction management, business, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of experience working with architects, designers, specifications, or commercial construction projects; an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience will be considered.
  • Knowledge of specification development, building codes, construction materials, and the phases of commercial design and construction.
  • Ability to interpret project requirements and prepare clear, accurate technical specifications and related documentation.
  • Strong sales, presentation, relationship-building, negotiation, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, organize priorities, and follow opportunities through completion.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record and the ability to travel up to 50%.
  • CSI, CDT, LEED AP, CTR, or comparable industry certification preferred, or willingness to pursue applicable certifications.
  • Active participation in CSI, AIA, or another relevant industry organization preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills are preferred in certain markets.
