To address rapidly changing program needs across several ongoing research projects within the Division of Applied Regulatory Science (DARS), we require scientists with experience across several different scientific disciplines including bioanalysis, PK/PD, toxicology, immunology, microbiology, cell and molecular biology, mathematical modeling, and structure activity relationships to assist with these projects.
The Division requires a competent research operations support administrator with a bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant science, social science, or business field or several years of experience in operations of research facilities or programs. Experience with research processes and procedures, acquisitions for laboratory research, and operations management principles preferred.
Requirements Required Skill Set:- General knowledge of accounting and budgeting principles.
- Proficiency with basic office software (Word, Power Point, Excel).
- Experience working with vendors for scientific reagents, supplies, and equipment.
- Experience working in a research laboratory environment and/or with laboratory staff.
- Knowledge of general scientific principles, processes, and procedures.
- Ability to organize, categorize, and prioritize tasks and physical ability to assist in movement of laboratory equipment, materials, and supplies.
- Assist divisional staff with creation, submission, approval, placement, tracking, and receipt of purchase card acquisitions.
- Assist divisional management in request, tracking, and execution of annual budget.
- Support operations team through organization, tracking, and execution of maintenance tasks for laboratories and sample inventories.
- As requested by divisional management, prepare responses for data calls relevant to position responsibilities.
- Assist in logging, monitoring, and quality assurance controls for laboratory operations.
- Assist divisional staff with travel requests, approvals, purchase card registrations, travel arrangement coordination, and completing post-travel requirements.
- May have to help move equipment and materials.
