Fabrication Technician

Join to apply for the FABRICATION TECHNICIAN - FULL-TIME role at Kensington Glass Arts, Inc.

The Fabrication Technician is responsible for taking an active role in the fabrication department and fabricating glass as required by the production schedule.

• Accurately fabricate all glass as required.
• Sort and stage glass as required.
• Maintain a clean work environment; clean up breakage, dispose of damaged glass, keep floor area around walking surfaces clean, keep station desks clean and organized.
• Maintain, clean, and organize all cutoff and specialty stock racks.
• Participate in any activity requiring additional help, helping and organizing as required.
• Maintain regular cleaning, repair, and general maintenance of the machines and coordinate those efforts with workload and management.
• Be responsive to changes in the production schedule as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Hold OSHA 10 certification.

• Assist in developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for cutting processes.
• Assist in design and implementation of production KPMs.
• Assist in identification of KPMs to create a completely accountable, 100% customer satisfaction goal.

• Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger‑handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
• Occasionally exert up to 100 lbs. of force; frequently up to 50 lbs.; constantly up to 20 lbs. to move objects.
• Vision requirements include clarity of vision at 20 inches or less; clarity at 20 feet or more; ability to identify and distinguish colors; ability to observe an area up and down or left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point; ability to judge distances and spatial relationships; ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus.
• Work performed in shop environment with frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, outdoor weather conditions, and vibration; occasional exposure to humid/ extreme non‑weather conditions; frequent exposure to constant very loud sounds sufficient to cause distraction.

All candidates must be able to work at our Ijamsville, MD location and submit to a pre‑employment drug test and a background check. Fabrication Technician will be OSHA 10 certified. The position is full‑time and entry‑level.
