Painter- Day Shift

Position Overview

Painter – Full‑time, day shift at Silver Spring, MD. Reports to Plant Operations Manager.

• Respond to emergent calls promptly and courteously.
• Prepare walls prior to painting.
• Select and measure required materials accurately.
• Maintain, repair, or replace damaged walls and floors in patient rooms and common areas.
• Assist in refinishing hospital furniture.
• Maintain inventory of essential tools, equipment, and cleaning supplies.
• Paint frame walls, repair and install cove base.
• Demolish plaster walls and ceilings damaged by water and mildew, ensuring site is clean and safe.
• Repair sheet rock and perform plaster work on damaged areas.
• Determine supplies needed for work and maintain inventory.

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• 4 years of painter’s apprenticeship or 2 years on‑the‑job training in wall finishing and floor tile installation.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
• Weekend work and shift rotation may be required.

Pay range: $25.17 – $35.23 per hour, based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under FLSA will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may vary by location.
