Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance of commercial boilers and associated equipment including logging operations, adjusting combustion, annual service, rebuilding equipment, cleaning heat exchangers and proper lubrication
- Repair and replacement of defective equipment, components, or wiring related to boilers, burners, combustion control systems, DA an surge tanks, pumps, valves, and actuators
- Maintain and inspect equipment to identify potential problems to prevent premature and unexpected breakdowns or callbacks
- Analyze boiler and combustion trend data to ensure optimal performance
- Perform warranty service application by inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality of equipment and components
- Lead the rebuild and retrofit of commercial and industrial boiler, burner, and combustion controls systems. Direct technician Levels I and II through hands‑on demonstration of the necessary steps and procedures
- Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other articles as required and in a timely manner
- Interact with customers by offering status reports of service before, during, and after each call. Explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Participate in available training through regional technician trainers, off‑site learning modules, and factory training. Maintain all required certifications and continue to develop new skill sets
- Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are always upheld
- Follow all OSHA and Daikin Applied safety policies and procedures
- Potential travel requirements with some overnight travel
- 5+ years related experience with increasing responsibility; or 7+ related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Technical school with HVAC certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
- Rotational Emergency Call Support as required
- Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district
- EPA approved Universal Technician Certification required, as necessary
Demonstrates expertise in the maintenance, repair, and inspection of commercial boilers and associated equipment, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with safety standards. Possesses strong technical communication skills to effectively interact with both technical and non‑technical audiences.
