The DSP, Community Living Services/Residential will be committed to supporting the organization’s mission of ensuring quality support services are provided and people with intellectual and developmental disabilities are both respected and afforded opportunities to choose and participate in community events, activities, and resources.
Responsibilities- Support individuals in achieving their personal goals by focusing on person‑centered care.
- Teach independent living and daily living skills, including grooming, personal care, and other daily routines.
- Plan, coordinate, and participate with residents in social activities, including community outings.
- Instruct and assist with household tasks such as cleaning, meal preparation, and food shopping.
- Individuals who are mobile and able to move around independently.
- Residents who live in their own basement apartment or similar housing.
- Persons who are kindhearted, compassionate, and enjoy outdoor activities such as fishing, gardening, golf, and water activities.
- Clients who value supportive and engaging conversations and community participation.
- Earned High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Ability to communicate effectively with service recipients.
- Experience in a residential setting serving people with intellectual/developmental disabilities or other special needs populations (e.g., rehabilitation settings, nursing homes, psychiatric hospitals, behavioral health settings).
