Job Overview
Arcola Elementary School is seeking a dynamic and collaborative Speech Pathologist to join our team for a 0.6 FTE position in Fiscal Year 2027. This role supports a linguistically and culturally diverse learning community, providing high‑quality speech and language services that promote student growth and equity.
Responsibilities- Screen, evaluate, diagnose, and provide evidence‑based services for students with communication disorders (articulation, voice, language, fluency).
- Consult with teachers, parents, and related professionals to develop instructional supports and interventions.
- Participate in IEP team meetings; develop IEP goals and objectives; maintain accurate longitudinal records.
- Attend school meetings, programs, and activities outside the instructional day as required by the MCEA agreement.
- Implement culturally responsive practices and foster positive relationships with students across varied backgrounds and abilities.
- Master’s degree or equivalent in Speech‑Language Pathology.
- Comprehensive coursework and demonstrated expertise in evaluating and treating communication disorders for students aged birth to twenty‑one years.
- Experience collaborating with teachers, parents, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Excellent oral and written communication, human relations, and organizational skills.
- License:
Speech pathologists hired after October 1, 2007 must hold a Maryland State Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DHMH) license or be eligible for a provisional license. Those hired prior to October 1, 2007 may hold Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) certification or a Maryland DHMH license. CCC or CFY eligibility is desirable.
The wage range for this position is 60% of a salary between $64,591 and $131,472 based on education and experience. For more information about benefits, see the benefits guide:
