Systems Engineer (Tools) – Firaxis Games

Join our team as a Systems Engineer focusing on tools within Unreal Engine. You’ll serve as a domain expert in Systems and Tools, building foundational systems that support our next generation of games while collaborating closely with fellow coders, designers, and artists.

• Design and develop systems to support various game features.
• Build and design tools both inside and outside of the Unreal Editor to support content creators.
• Set high standards for code quality, performance, and maintainability.
• Assist the team in resolving difficult technical issues and address Unreal Engine‑related challenges.
• Identify and bring to attention problematic changes and issues in a timely manner.

• 3+ years of engineering experience using Unreal Engine.
• A broad knowledge of Unreal’s internals.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.
• Highly proficient in C++ programming language.
• Comfortable with multi‑threading, templates, and optimization.
• Strong problem‑solving and debugging skills.
• Self‑motivated and passionate about games.
• Good team communication skills, able to translate rough ideas into concrete implementations.

• Experience with Unreal Engine 5 Editor and Slate.
• Prior Tools experience.

Pay range: $98,100 – $145,200 per year (varies by location). Additional compensation may include bonus and equity awards.
