Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and related equipment safely and hygienically
• Order food and supplies
• Dispense and store medication, as requested
• Complete accurate documentation per organization and licensing requirements
• Assist with other daily center duties as needed
• Partner with center staff and leadership to achieve goals around enrollment, accreditation, and engagement

• A love for children and a strong desire to make a difference every day
• Familiarity with accurate food storage conditions, understanding the needs of children with food allergies, and implementing methods to avoid cross‑contamination
• Ability to follow nutritious menus and prepare an adequate quantity of food for the center population
• Basic math skills for measuring and calculating serving portions
• Possess a Food Handler’s License or willingness to obtain one
• At least one year of institutional cooking – food ordering experience highly desirable
• Two or more years working with children, highly desirable
• Physically able to use a computer with basic proficiency and lift up to 40 pounds; may be required in some classrooms or kitchen areas
• Read, write, understand, and speak English to communicate with children and parents

Range of pay $17.60 - $18.70 hourly. In Minnesota, an additional $3.00 per hour premium is provided.
